Red Purps by Female Seeds is a high-performance feminized strain that comes from crossing The Purps x Ice. The obtained strain improves yield efficiency and enhances its parental sweet and fruity aromas. This sativa influenced cannabis plant produces strong energizing effects that can be felt from the first puffs. Its buds are of noticeable high quality and show beautiful purple and red shades.

Female Seeds started researching and developing this strain a decade ago, which is when a Canadian breeder gave them The Purps. Out of three dissected phenotypes, Female Seeds chose the one that featured blue and purple shades and proceeded to cross it with Ice in order to increase the yield. Afterwards, multiple crosses took place until the original characteristic flavors of its ancestor were obtained.

This strain is part of Female Seeds Outdoor Strains range, as Red Purps is more fruitful when grown in open air. These genetics show better performance under natural daylight, reaching ripeness faster than most photoperiodic dependent strains, reason why its own Dutch seeds bank considers them semi automatic.

Learn to grow Red Purps indoors

When Grown indoors and under grow lamps, Red Purps also develops perfectly and it can yield up to 350/ 450g/m2 when using 10-11 examples per square meter in 7L pots. This strain’s flowering period is of approximately 7-8 weeks, after which plants will measure less than 1m. Regarding lighting, in order to obtain professional results, it is recommended to use a full spectrum GB Lighting LED Panel Pro V2 150W with 3000K color temperature, so that panels can be used during the growth stage and afterwards, the flowering period.

Red Purps exhibits its best capabilities when grown outdoors as it can reach 1.5 m in height and shows lovely purple coloring that will decorate gardens and other open spaces. This strain will start its flowering period by mid-July or start of August and it will be ready for harvest by mid-September in the northern hemisphere. Its yield, once dried, can range between 50-150 g/per plant, proving more quality than quantity.
