What is a coco brick?

Coco bricks are blocks completely made of high-quality inert coco coir, that when compacted occupy very little space, making their transportation very easy in comparison to other dry substrates, such as Biobizz Light Mix.

What is coco coir used for?

Coco coir is used as a grow medium for cannabis plants due to their peculiar texture, aeration and water retention capacities. This substrate doesn’t contain any minerals and it is free of pathogens thanks to the high temperatures at which it is exposed during its elaboration. It can also be used to upgrade the quality of substrates made of different peats in order to improve their structure.

How are coco bricks prepared?

Before using coco bricks, they need to be left soaking good quality water for approximately 30 min. Once the brick can’t absorb more water, it needs to be shredded by hand. Afterwards, water needs to be drained and coco coir will be ready for use.

Coco coir has every little nutrient retention capacity; therefore, it needs specific fertilizers in order to succeed with the marijuana grow, otherwise the results won’t be satisfactory.
