History of Mexican Truffles

Mexican Truffles are originally, as its own name says, from the Aztecs country. Spiritual and religious rituals using magic truffles started thousands of years ago but they were interrupted after the Spanish Empire conquered America in 1492.

It wasn’t until Robert Gordon Wasson arrived and met Maria Sabina, that he published his article in LIFE magazine and the truffles started to be studied in depth. Psychologist and activist Timothy Leary found out about this substance after reading that article and he got to experience his first psychedelic experience thanks to Mexican truffles.

Psilocybe Mexican Truffles effects and duration

First of all, let’s make it clear that these magic truffles are sold for ornamental or mycological study purposes. They are not suitable for consumption under any circumstances.

The accidental ingestion of these truffles could cause the following effects:

• Distorted reality
• Visual effects with low/moderate doses
• High creativity
• Pleasant and bearable trip
• Uncontrollable laughter
• At high doses, personal introspection

These effects will start 30-45 minutes after its accidental consumption and last between 4-6 hours.

Conservation method

• Magic truffles can be stored in the fridge for up to one month with the package closed.
• Once open, the truffles lose their properties in a maximum of three days.
• If you want to preserve them for longer, dry them. This way, they’ll retain their properties for approximately 2 years (inside an airtight container stored in a fresh, dry and dark place).
• Remember that psilocybin content is different in dry and fresh truffles.
